Keeping Safe Watching Out for the True, The False, and The Maybe Henry Ford
|
HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS on the Internet have exposed me to more
negative and bad news than one can imagine. Trying to determine the
difference between “The True, The False and The Maybe” is an unending task.
I have returned many an e-mail to well meaning friends and pointed them to a
website link that states “Hey, That’s False.”
Before you glance ahead, hurriedly proclaim “I’ve seen that before,” and begin
using this newsletter as a drink coaster, please slow down long enough to
consider the possibilities in the next few paragraphs.
The Bad and The Ugly in our society, those who steal, rob, rape, murder, etc
(yes, I’m making moral judgements) are constantly trying new techniques to
victimize the rest of us. May I suggest that one of the ways they get new ideas
for their pathetic actions is from those sudden flashes of insight revealed in
stories that could be “true, false, or maybe.” In behooves us then, not to write
off warnings and cautions even if some authority indicates they are false.
Because somewhere in the criminal mind, the story that is false, just gave the
scum reading it, a new tool in his or her arsenal of dirty tricks.
So what are we to do? If you don’t pass along and heed warnings, you may
deny someone (or yourself) valuable and possibly life-saving information. If you
do pass them on, you could be spreading thoughts and possibilities to the
wrong person, in addition to filling up e-mail boxes of friends who can’t process
all the information.
Truth be told, I don’t have an answer to the question “So what are we to do?”
My thought is that we need to BE CAREFUL AND CONSIDER EVERY WARNING
TO BE A POSSIBILITY. What messages you share and who you share them
with must be an individual decision, but for your own safety, remember that ANY
and EVERY THING IS POSSIBLE.
The thoughts I’ve just shared with you were prompted by an e-mail that I’ve seen
numerous times, but may have never passed along. Recently the article
appeared in the SBC Pioneers Publication, and gave me the gut feeling that I
should republish it. Just remember, what follows is only a small sample of what
we have to digest.

A NEW WAY OF CAR JACKING (NOT A JOKE)
Lieutenant Tony Bartolome, FL FHP
You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. Then you lock
all yours doors, start the engine and shift into REVERSE, and you look into the
rearview mirror to back out of your parking space and you notice a piece of
paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into PARK, unlock
your doors and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that
is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the
car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off! Your
engine was running, (ladies would have their purse in the card) and they
practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.
BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.
Just drive away and remove the paper that is stuck to your window later, and be
thankful that you saw this. I hope you will forward this to friends and family...
especially to women! A purse contains all Identification, and you certainly do
NOT want someone getting your home address. The already HAVE your keys!

So why couldn’t the car-jackers just stop you on your way to your car?
Who knows, they can probably try that also.
ANYWAY, JUST BE CAREFUL!
