John Williams Retires . . . to Fishing
|

It was “off the hook” as John Williams decided to call it quits in favor of a quiet life of
“mostly fishing.” The quiet life was interrupted briefly during Memorial Day weekend
as John & Joan’s House and backyard were turned into “Party Central.” Friends
and family from several states including Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan and
Ohio, descended upon the Williams’ Maryland home for a celebration fit for a king.
Their huge back yard even played host to relatives with an RV. With very little
unused “room at the Inn,” the RV owners from Michigan brought their beds with
them.
The food and hospitality was excellent, and the weather overly cooperative with
sunny skies and mild temperatures.
The only challenging part of the weekend was negotiating the Infamous D.C.
Beltway (I-495), and you would think that drive would make us stay home for a few
months. Well, think again, because we had such a good time, that we were soon
off again, this time to North Carolina.
