EXHIBIT OPENING REVIEW!

Some who know James Cozart are not aware of
his vast knowledge, talent and experience of
photography and the related computer skills to
make things happen.  These hidden assets are
about to reveal themselves in all their splendor
as Cozart prepares for the Winter in Bavaria,
an exhibit that will take place in July of this year
at Loganberry Books in Shaker Heights, Ohio.
Cozart was kind enough to share a little about
himself with us, so immediately after putting
down this article, please reserve the date to
view his outstanding works. In Cozart’s own
words:

My interest in photography began when I
worked in a Jewelry Store after school, and was
give a 127 Format Camera, brand unknown.  I
began to photograph family, friends, and
schoolmates.  Art was my major in high school,
which helped me with composition.  After high
school, I was eventually drafted into the army
and fortunately went to Germany, where I met
Johnny Strobel, who was the photo instructor at
the Service Club.

Because Johnny had a brother in Cleveland,
had visited the city in 1936, and recognized my
hunger for learning, he took me under his wing
and taught me the basics of photography, black
and white film development, printmaking,
landscape photography and composition.
Absorbing what Johnny taught was made easier
because of what I learned in high school,
especially those art classes.  My high school
and military experience provided a firm
foundation for photography classes taken later
at Cleveland College, and years of experience
since that time.

I am a charter member of the Fine Arts Society,
founded by Charles Pinkney, artist and
photographer.  I am also a longtime member of
the Karamu Camera Guild, and have exhibited
with them at Karamu House.  I have also
exhibited at Kent State University and with the
Bedford Heights Arts Council.

I am currently using my lifetime learning and
passion to do Event Photography, Wedding
Photography and the restoration of old
photographs.
