CONGRATULATIONS to Todd Leonhardt, who
recently traveled to Belize as a member of the
Westminster College Basketball Team.  The ten day
trip to the Belize City Shootout included games against
teams from Mexico and Belize.  Todd’s team earned a
respectable 2nd place finish during the tournament.

During the trip, the team visited Mayan Ruins and
traveled to Ambergis Island to experience a
Lobsterfest.  The trip to Belize was made entirely by
air.  When asked about some of the major differences
between life in Todd’s quiet community of Walton Hills,
Ohio and the country of Belize, Todd pointed out that
Belize has no traffic lights, and that most travel is by
bike or scooter.  In addition, like most veterans of
foreign travel, Todd’s most memorable reflection is a
strong appreciation for home in the United States.

Todd is the son of Don and Kim Leonhardt of Walton
Hills, Ohio.

Belize is a diverse, peaceful, English-speaking
democracy. Situated on the northeastern tip of Central
America with more than 300 miles of Caribbean
coastline, this former British colony is a trade
crossroads between the Caribbean and Latin America.

A former British colony, Belize gained independence in
1981 and offers U.S., U.K. and Canadian investors a
familiar business environment where English is the
official language, and the political, economic, legal and
educational systems are based on familiar British
models.
