WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO ME
Thanks to our friend Carolyn Dawkins who recently had a great idea to
ask young family members to write “What Christmas means to me.”
Carolyn has graciously allowed us to share the thoughts of these
inspiring young people.
Christmas isn’t about presents or decorations. It’s about sharing and
caring about people less fortunate than you. It’s about spending time
with your family. But most importantly it’s about celebrating Jesus and
all he has done for us. So don’t forget the real reason for this holiday.
It’s Jesus forever and always.

To me Christmas means to have the family get together. To celebrate
the birth of Jesus Christ. To sing Christmas Carols with the family and
play board games and have a good time. Eating and playing with your
family. See the part of the family you haven’t seen in a long time.
Finally giving gifts and not receiving.

To me Christmas means to be with my family. To surprise my mother
with an amazing gift. To eat with all of my younger cousins. To watch
the game with my uncles. To eat all of the great food prepared by the
women. To run from Erika when she chases me. To be with my
cousins to let us spend the night at my Grandma’s house. Just all of
the family traditions. Family is what Christmas is about. On the very
first Christmas all Jesus had was his family so that’s all anyone should
need.
