Most people with an ounce of sporting blood that attended high school in the late
1950’s on Cleveland’s East Side, know the name Vic Reed. A fierce but friendly
competitor on the track, Vic is now delivering top quality by the pound. Vic recently
founded Vic Reed’s Sausage & Foods Company. He has taken his passion for being
number one, and transferred that passion into what we understand is a top quality
product that just might help you with one or more of your New Year’s resolutions.
Although I have not yet tasted the sausage, it is on my list of things to do very soon.
This past weekend we talked to some people who have tried it, and they talked about
how well seasoned it was, with barely any grease at all. The “barely any grease” may
be a big help if one of your resolutions is to lose weight, or you are “allergic” to
clogged arteries!
The second resolution, that might or might not be on your list (it is on mine) is to try to
spend some of those hard earned dollars with people who live in or employ in our own
communities. Surely you can’t mind “helping a brother out” when you’re getting great
taste, improved health, and a little more longevity. In fact, this is now in that category
of “It’s a no brainer.”
Vic was interviewed on Cleveland Radio Station 1300 AM on December 13th. We are
aware of at least one upcoming television appearance where you can see Vic. He is
scheduled to appear on Kaleidoscope with Leon Bibb on Cleveland TV Channel 5,
Sunday, January 7th at 7:00 AM.
Vic’s sausage is currently available at Zagara’s Market at 5100 Wilson Mills Road
(formerly Tops), across from Richmond Mall, and 1940 Lee Road (between Mayfield &
Superior Road). Vic is working to make the sausage and other products available at
a store closer to you. Meanwhile you can help by visiting your local butcher and
doing like we did in the 1950’s; simply insist “We Want Vic, We Want Vic.” When you
do this, make sure that you do not pick up any other brand of sausage. You cannot
establish firmness and credibility while settling for second best. Remember “We Want
Vic, We Want Vic.”
Also, do your chant at the Customer Service counter on your way out of the store.
