"Where there is no vision, the people perish" - Proverbs 29:18
Chanel Simpson
Whether she is on a basketball court,
under a volleyball net, on the track, in
the classroom, in church, volunteering
for Meals on Wheels, or gracing a
Cotillion Ball with her presence and
charm, Chanel Simpson is “at home.”

There seems to be no end to the
talent, abilities, and ambitions of
Chanel.  Seemingly everything she
touches, she becomes the master of,
and those who know the rules of good
luck, understand that “The harder she
works, the ‘luckier’ she gets.”  We
certainly feel lucky to have the
opportunity to again feather Chanel.
In the May-June 2006 issue of VISIONS
(It can still be seen on the web) we
reported on Chanel’s basketball
abilities.  At that time, she was pictured
in a newspaper article citing her growth
and achievements on the basketball
court.  Chanel’s recognition on the
basketball court includes Honorable
Mention All Conference, Second Team
All Conference, Player of the Game,
and Player of the Week.  After
reviewing a few of her more recent
accomplishments, we realize that
article only scratched the surface.

Chanel recently attended the 27th
Annual Les Belles Perles Cotillion.
The Cotillion was sponsored by the
Akron Alumnae Chapter of Delta
Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.   As the
photos demonstrate, Chanel’s makes
an impact wherever she goes.  She
excels in the classroom, and plans to
pursue a degree in Psychology and
minor in Criminal Justice.  Besides
planning her long-term career path,
Chanel has the ambition to play
basketball in a foreign country.  Based
on her past, we believe she would be
both qualified and also be an excellent
“ambassador” for the United States.

At the Cotillion, Chanel was joined by
some of her very proud family.  We join
her family, friends, classmates and
associates in wishing Chanel the best,
because she gives her best.  We are
convinced that her positive actions will
serve her well, and also make a
significant impact on her community.
She is truly worth more than her weight
in gold just by the standards she lives
by.

Chanel is the granddaughter of our
friend Shirley Simpson, and the
daughter of Michael Simpson and
Michelle Scott.
